People are getting hired in SecondLife

Tuesday 23 January 2007 - Filed under Uncategorized

Looks like people are getting hired within SecondLife despite having never met in person. People were hired solely based on their work and reputation within SecondLife.

This isn’t exactly news in the world of programming. There are many companies and open source projects that more or less operate as virtual entities. What is amazing about this is that it is extending to users of a computer game.

I’ve already seen a couple articles on virtual loot being traded for real money and even coordinated “heists” within these games. What happens when everything goes virtual? I guess you could argue that the internet is no different.
