Alister,

There's only so many ways to back out after making a fool of yourself but it did satisfy my curiousity.

Ilya,
I'm hardly as successful as you but even I was surprised at how easy I could get a story on the front page. I've seen some good stories hit the front page even though it was submitted by someone with no friends but not that often. I also see some users doing good work but not adding friends.

I think a lot of the top users instinctively (or knowingly) figure it out for themselves as they use the system.

I get the feeling that some Digg users are catching on and starting to be more cautious of whose story they trust as quality. At least it feels that way to me.

Don't know what kind of juicy skoop you got waiting but I sure am interested!

Well done, Baron.

Good honourable, humble way to handle it.

And Sicc... any time you want to post detailed stories about how you do it... is fine with me.

Although frankly, I hate Digg and I don't think that's going to change.

They bury me for so much as being nice in my comments... go figure.
