Open source programmer rants against leeches who don’t contribute. Of course, not everyone is good enough to code. Seems like OSS projects just increase support overhead for those that share sometimes.

Are all the web 2.0 kiddies hangers on and leeches to big daddy MySpace? I don’t know what’ll be left of MySpace if you take away all the piggybacking services and accompanying buzz.

This is a growing trend among small IT companies in Japan too, only they go on a weekend hackathon. Could be the ideal set up. Motivate each other as a shared workspace minus the politics that comes with managing each other.
