Get Your Story on the Digg Front Page: An Offer You Can’t Refuse?

How touching. Someone thinks I’m desperate to get on the front page of Digg. Today I check my WordPress admin’s comment spam box and what do you know? I get an offer too good to refuse. Maybe.

At 20 cents per vote that’s like $10-$20 to get on the Digg front page. Let me think about it.

Hi, nice review! I have a tool to sell/buy votes at all “social voting” sites mentioned above. Only problem is that I need about 50 “paid” links per day to make it running, with this amount of articles I can hire hundreds of people who will vote for you at digg/etc for minimum proce of 20 cents per vote.     For brand building, a front-page Digg story is worth a lot more than $20. But buying Diggs is not the way to do it, as it will just be buried for spam. AS I’ve learned, however, a front-page article that actually captures the interest of Diggers is invaluable for backlinks and exposure to that demographic. I’m surprised there aren’t more “businesses” like this one.

    I think $20 is cheap too. I agree that you can buy Diggs but you can’t buy quality.

    I’ve also seen a lot of “front page material” wither away because it was submitted wrong. This is actually something that can be done as a service (although it probably goes against some kind of TOS).

    If you’re about to unleash great content on the web and want to make sure it gets the best possible chance without any dirty tactics have a high ranking Digg user with a good success ratio write the submission. No results guaranteed but a bonus if it does hit the front page.

    I submitted two popular science stories on Digg that I really liked – about 1) futurists, and 2) brain researchers – and neither of them got a single vote. OK, maybe I have lame taste, but not a single vote?

    My conclusion: I need to cultivate “friends” on Digg. If true, Digg success isn’t about buying votes but it’s still not just about good content.
