Dang! Today I peek into my comments folder to see almost 400 spam comments. Scrolling through 10 pages of spam comments is not fun. I recovered 1 comment out of all the mess. Akismet is a real boon to bloggers but it seems like the spammers are getting even more reckless by sending us even more spam. It’s always been a volume game. I wonder if improved spam measures only increase the volume of spam being sent?

I agreeoooo ..Please try Spam Karma 2 (works even better) and Bad Behavior .. Two plugins that will reduce your spam by half..

Akismet is definitely a blessing. The thing is, it does take some time to go through the spam just to make sure that you don’t miss a valid comment. Have you tried installing the simple math plugin for the comments form? That sounds like a promising anti-spam plugin as well.

I might try simple math too. I heard the “retarted captcha” that asks the same question forever also works! It’s starting to get ridiculous even with Akismet.
