I’d definitely be on XP even if I didn’t switch. It’s a decent system.

I was talking about QuickTime Pro. Apple’s operating system still comes in one flavor but they do sell their own software.

“One of the things that shocked me switching to a mac was the lack of “Pro” branded software. I thought to myself, “Surely, there must be an upgrade to OS X Pro Edition hiding somewhere, ready to spring at me when the opportunity strikes.” but to my shock, in a good way, there was none. I had the only edition available. Of course, there is OS X Server but that’s really for servers and it actually makes sense. Ultimate, Pro, Home, Amateur, Grandma, etc. really don’t mean anything other than, “we just forked the project to make it cripple ware so that we could squeeze out more cash from the idiots kind enough to pay”. Of course, that’s not to say Apple is a saint. They still try to charge you $30 just to watch a movie in full screen mode with their dubious “Pro” edition.”

Didnt bother reading the rest of the article after you contradicted yourself… “lack of ‘pro’ branded software…” “dubious ‘pro’ edition”

I have never been a Mac Fan but windows vista leaves a lot to desire I would not advise anyone to upgrade to it, just over rated crap… that has so many problems…just a question for anyone who reads this if you have disabled the uac does your computer become unstable ( mine does )??? re enable uac everything settles down hummmmm

Gotta represent. I’d love to see linux really give Windows a run for the money and split the market share 3 way. Anything is better than Windows for me.

lol. I think I’m subscribed to too many Mac blogs but you don’t see that much buzz for a product so huge an with such a large advertising campaign. Just in a relative sense. Apple announces some minor stuff and the blogs are all over it.

You’re kidding, right? I’ve heard a loud chorus – all horror stories. DON’T DO IT, is the message I’ve received. And I won’t, until XP gives up the ghost. My next computer is probably a Mac or a Linux-based PC.

Vista is – “eye candy” – very pleasing to the eye. However, they are too many similarities to the mac osx system. Nevertheless, vista is a pleasant change from XP …. I use Vista as well as OSX Looking forward to the new mac operating system – “Panther”
